Vikings Head to CSUN to Close Out Non-Conference Action

PORTLAND, Ore. – Following a full week of rest, the Portland State women’s soccer team will close out non-conference action on the road this weekend as they head to Northridge, Calif. to take on CSUN this Sunday at 2 p.m.

Portland State enters the weekend 1-4-3, having tied three of its last five matches. Still searching for their first road win since 2019, the Vikings will look to replicate their 3-1 defeat of the Matadors in 2021. Sunday’s match will air live on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT

Last Sunday, Portland State posted its first shutout of the season but came away empty-handed in a 0-0 tie with North Dakota. The Viking attack dominated possession, recording a season-high 22 shots, while the defense limited the Fighting Hawks to just six shots, two in the first half.

This weekend, the Vikings hope to end a nearly three-year road drought. A win at CSUN would be PSU’s first road win over a division I opponent since Sept 27, 2019, when the Vikings beat Idaho State 3-2 in Pocatello.
