Just 1.2% of Green Bay Packers fans consider bratwurst their favorite game day food.
That’s according to a USbetting.org survey of 1,366 NFL fans across the United States conducted earlier this month. So, of the 87 respondents who identified as Green Bay Packers fans, just one said brats are the champions of their game day spread.
Really?
Granted, the top three favored foods of Packers fans were American classics:
- Pizza (30.2%)
- Chicken wings (20.9%)
- Burgers (16.3%)
But to put the lackluster showing of bratwurst in perspective, Packers fans named bratwurst at the same level as all NFL fans chose fruit and sweets (1%).
You’re telling me Packers fans have the same level of love for brats as fruit?
Are these Packers fans in California, or worse, Minnesota?
Nope, 36.8% of respondents are Wisconsinites. Add in our neighboring states, that jumps to about 60%.
Furthermore, the survey showed that Packers fans watching the game at home are the most willing of all NFL fans to cook their homemade favorites.
Other than throwing a frozen pizza in the oven, grilling brats might be the easiest game-day meal to make. Certainly, it’s easier than chicken wings or even burgers. So this isn’t a matter of convenience.
