Apparently the Green Bay Packers gave Jaire Alexander a gigantic contract to cover KJ Osborne?

By now everyone with a pulse is completely aware of what Justin Jefferson did to the Packers vaunted defense on Sunday afternoon. Despite a game plan that was apparently geared towards stopping him, Jefferson put up 184 yards and two touchdowns in an easy Vikings victory.

When given the opportunity to play the situation down, Jaire Alexander chose a different route. He made it clear he was just as unhappy with the situation as many fans.

Alexander seemingly aired his frustrations to multiple reporters.

“Game plan was to not allow 18 to beat us…Why I wasn’t on him, that’s not my call. Anybody watch me play, you know that’s what I want.” – Jaire Alexander on why he wasn’t on Justin Jefferson.

Jaire Alexander to me and @RobDemovsky postgame on coaches not having him shadow Justin Jefferson: “All week, (I was) asking for that matchup. But it ain’t about me. It’s about the team. It ain’t about me. If it was my way, you know what I would be doing.”

The Packers play a certain style of a zone defense and have since Joe Barry has come on board. Given the success up until this point it seems odd to deviate from it. But it seemed like everybody on the earth except the Packers knew what to expect today. Alexander is not one to cause drama and his statements certainly weren’t akin to setting the building on fire, but this is definitely something to keep an eye on. I would guess when these two teams meet at the end of the year, likely with the division on the line, you will see a lot more of Alexander on Justin Jefferson.
